What We do

At DUENOLA, we have organized programs that work to provide new birthing people with postpartum care that honors their humanity, creates a safe environment for them to heal, and restores their spirits after birth.

Our current programs include temporary postpartum housing, postpartum doula support and care for housing guests, family preparedness classes, infant and maternal care needs, and case management for long-term stability.

How We Help

Postpartum Healing House

The DUENOLA Postpartum Healing House provides guests with up to six months of temporary housing, case management, certified doula care, perinatal care, parenting and lactation support, and essential resources to help families navigate the vulnerable postpartum period.

In this space new birthing people are positioned to focus specifically on improving and stabilizing maternal and infant health, mental and physical rest and recovery, spiritual and emotional healing, community support, and preparing for long-term economic stability.

Note: You can request temporary housing and postpartum care at our Postpartum Healing Home for up-to 6 months with our verified doulas. This space is not considered permanent or transitional housing but a safe and healing environment for low to moderate-income birthing people of all identities to recover after birth.

Community Resource Day

Every third Thursday of the month, we work with community partners and local businesses to connect New Orleans residents with dire postpartum and perinatal needs such as infant care items (diapers, clothes, bottles, car seats, etc), perinatal supplies (menstrual pads, breastfeeding/chestfeeding supplies, milk storage supplies, skin repair items, etc), and non-perishable food items.

Registration is required.
