Fresh Start Laundry Program

For a new parent recovering from birth, managing a household with little rest, a simple load of laundry can feel out of reach. That’s when we step in!

DUENOLA is meeting postpartum families in the Algiers community exactly where they are with our Pay-What-You-Can laundry program.

This program is for all birthing parents with babies up to one year old in our immediate service area. Families can access up to three loads of laundry per visit, paying only what they are able.

A clean set of sheets, fresh baby clothes, and one less thing to worry about can make all the difference during postpartum recovery. Space is limited. Text our team for availability, 504-312-3103.

Fresh Start Initiative:

Through scheduled pickup, washing, folding, and delivery, the program removes the barriers of limited income, lack of transportation, housing instability, physical recovery, and the demands of caring for a newborn. Fresh Start offers practical relief while helping families preserve their time, energy, and financial resources.

This initiative extends DUENOLA’s stabilizing support beyond the families residing in the Postpartum Healing House. By serving postpartum families throughout the community, we can reduce daily stress, identify additional needs, and connect families with doula care, education, essential supplies, referrals, and other supportive resources. Fresh Start reflects our belief that meaningful postpartum care includes the everyday assistance families need to recover, care for their infants, and move toward greater stability.

You can gift someone a few loads of fresh laundry or cover a load for a family in need and unable to pay.
